World Wide Women Prayer Web - Invitation

When I was preparing for our Tea Cup Tea in the Spring of 2007, I recalled how many times in my life I have sat before the Lord with teacup in hand, giving Him my expressions of gratitude for His mercy and grace that made me His child…and also handing Him those matters that were weighing on my heart…those cups He had given me to drink…knowing they were from Him for good purposes…and that He was taking note of my reactions and sitting at the table with me. He listened to my prayers and intercessions. I was recently reminded that in doing some research in another matter for the Hephzibah Ministry, prayer was the foundation of this ministry.

In fact, I remembered that in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, the women who were leaders and those who came to Bible studies, conferences, and other events offered by the Hephzibah Ministry, joined together in a prayer group, calling themselves Waiting Women. The more I read about this, the more my heart was drawn to re-establish this opportunity for women to pray together from all over the world for the needs of our nations, societies, homes and families, the Kingdom of God’s work around the world, etc.

So we are re-establishing a Prayer Circle for any woman who wishes to be a part of it. Pertinent information is forthcoming. If you wish to be involved, please email Lois Ewald at lkewald@earthlink.net or send a letter to her at Hephzibah House, 51 West 75th Street, New York, NY 10023. If you have questions, please phone her at 212-787-6150, but do register to be involved in a Worldwide Waiting Women Prayer Circle.

No matter how you register, email or regular mail, you will receive a monthly encouragement to pray and some requests. However, this opportunity can be a great blessing to you personally as one during which you bring to your Father those burdens on your own hearts, in your personal world as well as those shared by the group.

This will be patterned after a “Waiting Day” which was part of the Hephzibah Ministry in the very early years when the women “waited on the Lord”. Some were together in groups…but some who could not gather together prayed on that day. Many women who now work outside of their homes and find scheduling difficult may select a day appropriate for their own time frames.

We believe that the name “WAITING WOMEN” may have been chosen because the Lord declares that those who wait for Him will not be disappointed and that He delights in those who wait for Him. And may we suggest that if physically possible, the day you select will be a day of fasting and praying and looking to God in a new and fresh way. You might like to keep a record of your prayer requests made on that special day, perhaps even a prayer journal over the years to come, so that you will recognize the answers when God brings them about and express thanks to Him. It may be Fall when we launch this new opportunity, but women are already signing up.

Your sister and fellow Waiting Woman,

Lois Ewald
